101 Things

The Mission: Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.
The Criteria: Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on your part).
Begin Date: June  1, 2006
End Date: March 28 2009
 

I had to revise my 101 Items due to an tramatic knee injury taking me off of my feet for up to 4 months. Items bolded are in progress.

Personal:

  1. See a movie once a month at the theater
  2. Cut hair to a more fashionable style
  3. Color hair every 6 weeks
  4. Visit mom once a month in summer
  5. Visit mom at least 3 times in other seasons
  6. Relax and read for at least 2 hours on Sunday afternoons

 Health:

  1. Do bike for rehab and cardio 3 times a week for at least 30 minutes
  2. Learn to walk up stairs on crutches with a NWB leg
  3. Get full ROM of motion in 8 months
  4. Give up soda for at least 6 weeks
  5. Paricipate in a class a gym once a week
  6. Weigh 20 pounds less  at end of 1001 days
  7. Give up fast food for 6 months
  8. Give up pasta for a month
  9. Give up red meat for a month

 Financial:

  1. Keep track of detailed spending for 3 months
  2. Keep a budget written of major expenses
  3. Put $100 in savings every month
  4. Don’t lend Heather money for one month
  5. Increase 401K by 1% each year
  6. Pay off one credit card in full each year

 Career:

  1. Be promoted
  2. Close projects in a timely manner
  3. Read one technical journal each month
  4. Read one financial journal each month
  5. Send note of a job well done to one supervisor for a project team each month
  6. Update personal performance map once a month
  7. Have one project’s models consolidated each quarter
  8. Read all project documentation prior to meetings
  9. Finish ASK class and present once a quarter
  10. Take over TA2000 Architecture Plan Class from Doris

 Toastmasters:

  1. Complete High Performance Leadership by Fall Conference ]
  2. Be timely in announcing area and division contests
  3. Complete Distinguished Toastmaster By Fall 2007 Conference
  4. Run a great Toastmaster Leadership Institute
  5. Have an divison meeting every quarter
  6. Become division governor in 2007/2008 – Moved ahead of time 2006/2007 as of 10/31/06
  7. Become District Lt. Governor of Marketing 2008/2009
  8. Become District Lt. Governor of Education 2009/2010
  9. Earn next Competent Communicator – formerly CTM by June 30, 2007
  10. Have area as a Select Distinguished Area in 2006/2007 (acheieved Presidential Distinguished 2 months early!
  11. Do not rejoin Spirit of Liberty
  12. Sponsor a new club

 Stitching:

  1. Finish each piece in current rotation Up to Summer Fairy
  2. Frame 5 pieces
  3. Enter fabric into a database
  4. Enter floss into a database
  5. Enter leaflets/patterns into a database
  6. Attend Hershey CATS at least once
  7. Meet at least 5 TWBB members
  8. Begin Peacock Tapestry – will be 2nd time stitching – for myself
  9. Finish all ornaments already stitched
  10. Stitch a piece for Heidi
  11. Post on TWBB once a week
  12. Post on Rotation board once a week.

 Reading:

  1. Reread “Grapes of Wrath”
  2. Use the library at least once a month
  3. Organize library
  4. Keep a completed reading list on blog
  5. Bring book to work every day

 Music:

  1. Listen to kids music in the car when they are with me
  2. Attend the symphony at least once a season
  3. Buy season tickets to the Theater League once
  4. Buy season tickets to William Jewel’s Harriman’s Variety Season
  5. Attend Theater in the Park once each summer
  6. See one UMKC production each year
  7. Attend as many DST Chorale rehearsals as possible
  8. Play my flute at least once a month
  9. Keep iPod selections fresh

 Gardening

  1. Visit Powell Gardens
  2. Restart geraniums each fall
  3. Fertilize and aerate grass each season
  4. Plant one rose bush each year
  5. Separate daily lilies and iris each season

 Home:

  1. Replace all blinds
  2. Repaint bedrooms and living area
  3. Refinish kitchen cupboards
  4. Reupholster chairs
  5. Refinish maple table and chairs
  6. Clean up under the deck
  7. Clean basement storage area
  8. Replace back yard fencing
  9. Buy new wine glasses
  10. Clean out kitchen cupboards

 Kids:

  1. Go on date with Bobby (my son) each month
  2. Spend afternoon with Heather each month
  3. Help kids with a budget
  4. Help kids with a retirement plan
  5. Buy one tank of gas for each once a month
  6. Send each a surprise note at least once every 3 months

 Travel:

  1. Visit Maryland
  2. Visit Florida
  3. Visit South Carolina
  4. Travel to Mexico with friends
  5. One short 3 day roadtrip each year with no real plan

 Bowling: – entire set of goals had to be removed since my orthopedic surgeon will not let me bowl!  Readded on 7/01/07.

  1. Raise average up to 185
  2. Place at Nationals ‘in the money’
  3. Place at State ‘in the money’
  4. Keep ball clean

 Administrative:

  1. Update items each month
  2. Redo at end of 1001 days
